On Tuesday night, the Neuqua Valley varsity girls’ basketball team competed against Waubonsie Valley. The teams were neck-and-neck throughout the game and the score was tied up until the last few seconds when Waubonsie managed to snatch a victory.
Although the Warriors won with a score of 46-48, both teams put up a good fight, matching each other shot for shot. Rachael Tait was the highest scorer of the game, scoring 17 points for the Wildcats, including multiple free throws. Taylor Crowley’s impressive buzzer beater tied up the Valleys at 28-28 for the end of the first half.
Their season’s just getting started, and it’s already evident that the Neuqua girls are developing great playing skills and connecting with each other. They used mostly zone defense and had impressive communication. The Wildcats were focused on moving the ball, making solid passes.
Even though they narrowly missed a victory, the Wildcats played a great game. Cheer them on at their upcoming tournament at Marian Catholic this Saturday, December 9.
