Graduation Ticket Shortage

With only one semester left, many Neuqua Valley seniors undoubtedly have graduation on their minds. However, with the graduating class of 2009 as the largest student body so far, the distribution of graduation tickets has become an important topic of discussion. Since 2009’s graduating class is larger than last year’s, seniors will now each be guaranteed three graduation tickets as opposed to four. Read more

Science Olympiad Team Preps for Competition

They have been seen carrying large boxes of chocolate and have been bombarded by students intent on buying their wares. However, these students are not just selling candy for the heck of it; they are part of a club that had once been cut from the activities a student could take part in, but this year, they are back and stronger than ever. Neuqua Valley once again welcomes the Science Olympiad team back to the already abundant list of extracurricular activities. Read more

Boys Soccer Unable to Reach State

Neuqua Valley’s boys soccer team suffered a loss against the New Trier Trevians.

The final score was 4-0, but the team never lost their spirit. All players from both teams were charged-up and ready to play, and it was easy to see that they were very determined to be victorious. Read more

Speeding Past Safety

When the dismissal bell rings at 2:25 it is a common sight to see juniors and seniors rushing out of Neuqua Valley High School to get their cars and beat the traffic out onto 95th street. Some students have found an alternative that has caused many concerns. Officer Tom McDonald of both the freshman center and Fry building was notified that many high school student drivers were cutting through the parking lot of the Fry building to avoid the congested area of 95th street right outside of Neuqua. Meet the New Man on Top, Principal Robert McBride

Principal Robert McBride is Neuqua Valley’s new man at the top and he has plans to change Neuqua for the better. Using his past experiences, McBride is determined to improve the way Neuqua runs. As Assistant Principal Maree Russavage simply put it, “There’s a new man in town.” Read more
