Girls Basketball Plays Pink

At every major Neuqua sporting event, the Gold Rush, as well as newly-founded Blue Crew, can be found cheering the athletes on to victory with cheers, chants, and the singing of the school song. But on Friday, February 13, it will be a group of Neuqua’s own athletes cheering for a cause of their very own. Soccer Ends with a Bang

The Boys’ Varsity Soccer Team has a lot to be proud of at the conclusion of their 2008 season. Managing to endure the long, challenging year, the boys have become IHSA Regional, Sectional, and Super Sectional Champions. The team also earned “Best of the West Runner Up,” third place in the Collinsville Tournament, and fourth place in State after a hard fought battle with Rockford. The Wildcats also had a dominant record of 21-6-2 and were 7-1-2 in the Upstate Eight. It was the fifth time in the past seven years that the varsity team has posted at least twenty wins in a season. Varsity Football Halted in Post Season

Unable to obtain success in the postseason, the Wildcats’ football season came to an early end this year with four wins and five losses. Wildcats Rebound in Homecoming Game

The homecoming game is one of the most pivotal games of Neuqua’s football season and this year, students were worried. “It would ruin homecoming if we lost our game,” said Sophomore Meghan Gradle, “St. Charles East is a good team and I really hope we don’t lose.” Scheduled on the Friday before the dance, the homecoming game is vastly attended and is one of many events that kick-off, no pun intended, as well as gets students excited for homecoming.
