The ever present obsession with television shows that showcase talent has taken Naperville by storm. These shows have gotten so popular that most schools have adopted the concept and infused it into their own creations, like Neuqua Knows It Can Dance, Mr. NVHS, and The Variety Show. Now, Naperville is collectively giving in to the demand for a town-wide show that showcases different talents, called Naperville’s Got Talent.
Naperville’s Got Talent was founded by The Interact Club of Neuqua Valley High School, Rotary Club of Naperville South, and Rotaract Club of North Central College. Much like the programs Naperville’s Got Talent is modeled after, all of the proceeds will benefit Naperville-area charitable organizations. The show will feature acts from all ages.
Neuqua Valley’s own We Laugh at Monsters, comprised of sophomores Matt Sharpe, Pat Niepokoj, Matt Martersteck, and Aiden Manke is set to perform in the upcoming event. Naperville’s Got Talent offers exposure and experience for high school bands, making it a good opportunity for those that audition and make the cut.
“My mom is my inspiration,” said Niepokoj. “I want to be like her… I also want to be like Zach Mooneyham,” he added.
With the anticipation of this show increasing, one has to wonder if it will meet Naperville’s expectations. The inclusion of Neuqua bands can only aid the event in its enjoyability.
The show will be held at the Neuqua Valley High School auditorium on Saturday, January 15, 2011.
