Neuqua Goes To Theatre Fest

December 9, 2010

The monologue show is made up of fifty four students performing pieces they have written including monologues, poems, songs, or anything written. The purpose of the monologue show is to see students talk and be celebrated; words matter to people.

Neuqua students performing in the monologue show now have the opportunity to go to theater fest. Theater fest is a downstate Illinois festival, which all high schools in the state attend, and is extremely difficult to get into. Neuqua’s theater performance in September was critiqued by three judges who gave feedback to them.

Neuqua found out in late November that they had been selected to perform at the University of Illinois.

Twenty plays, the best theater in the state, were selected. Neuqua will be performing two shows at the University of Illinois January seventh in Wesley Hall at nine to ten thirty. Three students that are going have done the monologue for four years, grew and became talented writers.

Willingness to write and put yourself out there is all that is needed to try out for the monologue show and possibly be given a wonderful opportunity such as theater fest. What would you say?
