Every month, departments take turns to honor the students who exemplify outstanding citizenship beyond every day expectations.
These special students receive the Wildcat Pride Award and are honored with a ceremony, for the student and their parents to attend. They also receive a certificate, small gift, and a picture to be displayed in the hall.
Contrary to belief, Wildcat Pride is not always to honor an academically outstanding student. Some of the criteria this award is based on include a commitment to excellence, promoting positive relationships, an active involvement in the school and community, as well as accepting challenges in order to succeed in them.
“It’s not because you’re really, really smart…it’s someone that goes above and beyond…as far as effort and maturity,” said guidance counselor Valerie Adams. So congratulations to all winners of this award who fulfill the effort needed to succeed as a member of the Neuqua community.
