Adding to the ever growing number of clubs at Neuqua Valley High School, Amnesty International joins the list as well.
Students most likely have noticed the posters put up all over the main hallway of the school, but due to its incredibly non-descriptive name, there has been some initial confusion as to what this club actually does. In its most basic description, Amnesty International is a group organized around human rights.
However, as the name suggests, Amnesty International is not just a club that meets at Neuqua Valley. Instead, it is a worldwide movement. The club held at Neuqua Valley is a group in support of the cause set forth by this international movement.
The purpose of organizing groups such as this, is to spread awareness to the community of the abuse of human rights occurring worldwide. Even more than just revealing such human rights violations, a long term goal of Amnesty International is to inspire the community to act against the poor treatment of all human beings.
In addition to joining the club at Neuqua Valley, it is also possible to go online to the official website, join the cause, and donate to support this movement.
