The days of Disney Channel have been replaced with MTV and VH1, but Neuqua students never seem to forget those classic shows they watched when they were younger. Most students watched shows such as, Lizzie McGuire, Sister Sister, Even Stevens and Phil of the Future, all had to do with teenagers and their hassles of every day life, usually depicted in a comical manner.Lizzie McGuire was very popular with the young girls in elementary and middle schools. The main character Lizzie, played by Hilary Duff, and her male best friend Gordo, played by Adam Lamberg, were both socially awkward, which made the show funny to its young fans. After the show ended, Lamberg went on to play Lionel in When Do We Eat? and Reggie in Beautiful Loser. After the show Duff, made the Lizzie McGuire Movie, Material Girls, A Cinderella Story, The Perfect Man and Cheaper by the Dozen 2. She also has made several CD’s including, Metamorphosis and a self-titled CD Hilary Duff.

Sister Sister was another comedy based on twin sisters separated at birth and adopted by different parents. Tia and Tamera Mowry played these twins. Both sisters made Disney channel movies Twitches and Twitches Too. They were both also in the movie Hollywood Horror. Tia Mowry is currently on the TV show The Game. Tamera Mowry is on the show Roommates. The sisters still work together today but have also gone their own ways in their acting careers.

Transformers, Disturbia and Eagle Eye all star Shia Labeouf and all have been very successful movies. Labeouf got his start on the Disney Channel show Even Stevens, playing the obnoxious brother Louis. Louis had a sister Ren, played by Christy Carlson Romano. Romano has made a CD and is still a part of Disney Channel, as the voice of Kim Possible on the cartoon Kim Possible.

Phil of the Future was a show about a teenage boy, Phil Diffy, and his family who atr stranded in today’s time period because their time machine had broken down. Ricky Ullman played Phil. Ullman, after the show, was on one episode of Law and Order: SVU and one episode of House. He also starred on the movie Prom War as Percy.

The Disney Channel days may be over for some high school students, but in fact some of their favorite past stars are now starring in movies and shows that they are watching today. Shia Labeouf has gone on to make major box office hits and Ullman has been on shows that have the prime time slots. Neuqua students may be moving up to bigger and better things, but so are their favorite past stars.
