Bulls Ready to Start a Stampede

The Chicago Bulls tipped off the season with a new coach this year. The hire of Vinny Del Negro was a surprise for all, as he has no coaching experience whatsoever. The Bulls General Manager, John Paxson’s hire brings a mellower mood to the young Chicago team compared to last year’s fiery coach Scott Skiles, who was fired just before Christmas. Read more
Varsity Football Halted in Post Season

Unable to obtain success in the postseason, the Wildcats’ football season came to an early end this year with four wins and five losses. Every athlete remembers the time when the sport they played was not something that defined them and their schedule. Those were the days when practices were twice a week, sixty minutes of carefree fun and enjoyment. Yet the days of pee wee and little league games seem like fading memories in contrast to the ruthless and competitive world of high school sports, especially those at Neuqua Valley, legendary for its desire to win. Ballin’ Boys Basketball

The Neuqua Valley basketball season is about to get underway and the team looks to come back stronger than ever. The team is coming back strong with eleven players from last year’s squad. Neuqua played well last year, winning in regionals and sectionals, and making it to the elite eight in state. When Coach Todd Sutton of the varsity team was asked about team goals, he said they were the same every year. Coach Sutton encouraged his team to “Play very hard, play very smart, and play as a team. At Neuqua Valley High School, simply wanting to play a sport is not always good enough. Any sport a student chooses to tryout for is going to have fierce competition and a spot on a team is not always guaranteed. Luckily, Neuqua Valley also offers a wide variety of intramural sports where teams can be made by students without the pressures of having to tryout or be selected. After the enormous success of Casino Royale in 2006, James Bond once again graces the silver screen in the 22nd 007 film, Quantum of Solace. With a budget of $230 million, Quantum of Solace has high expectations to meet, and actor Daniel Craig feels he is up to the task. As the sixth actor to portray James Bond, Craig exceeded fan expectations in 2006 with Casino Royale and helped to gross $594 million at the box office. This may have played a large factor in director Marc Forster’s decision to cast Craig again for his second appearance as 007. Read more

Most students watched shows such as, Lizzie McGuire, Sister Sister, Even Stevens and Phil of the Future, all had to do with teenagers and their hassles of every day life, usually depicted in a comical manner. Third Book in Inheritance Trilogy is Released

Christopher Paolini was only fifteen when he wrote the first draft of Eragon, the first in what would become the bestselling Inheritance Cycle.
