New technology is being used this year at Neuqua Valley High School that is making menial jobs a lot easier for both staff and students. Most of it was seen during the beginning of the school year such as text book scanners. Another thing that has been introduced is the use of the United Streaming system to replace the old Dukane system.
The scanners were brought into school at the beginning of the year. They are used to scan in textbooks and other items that need to be checked out of the schools hands. One might say they see these all the time in the library. But these are not your usual scanners. These can be used in any classroom with the help of a small USB cord. It connects straight into the computer and is able to recognize with a program on the computer. This is directly connected to the schools library system and can easily keep track of where books are and who they are with. The device looks easy to use and is easy to transfer from teacher to teacher, due to its mobile size.
Neuqua has also received new computers in certain areas of the school. Some examples would be some of the smaller computer labs. Teachers have also been provided with these computers. The computers in question are HP Compaq. Although without Windows Vista, they are equipped with Intel Core 2 Duo processors, using the power of two instead of one which increases speed and functionality of the computer. It also helps with browsing the internet, making it easier on the computer if one has multiple windows up.
To replace the old Dukane system the school used, the school has issued United Streaming, a internet streaming website that teachers can use for visual reference.
