âBe loud, your voice will come back in a few days,â Tim Brackett, Gold Rush Captain â08. This year’s Gold Rush is bolder, louder, and more influential than ever before. With captains Tim Brackett, Dave Iacaponi, Zach Dressander, and Matt Reed, the Neuquaâs sports season progresses. This year the Gold Rush is looking forward to Neuqua football going to the playoffs, Basketball, Boys Cross Country, and as Zach Dressander says about Boyâs Soccer, âSoccer, I will accept nothing less than a state championshipâ. The Gold Rush can be joined by any student who is willing to wear gold be loud and show up to the games. Tim Brackett said, â[Gold Rush] is an important aspect because we are the extra man on the field.â The Gold Rush attends almost every Neuqua sporting event. Before cheering on at the games the Gold Rush hosts tailgating parties near the patio where the Captains have their pretty âtightâ reserved parking spots. As far as planning for Gold Rush events the captains are almost always in contact at school but there are some few planned meetings throughout the seasons. Sometimes these meetings include talking to Assistant Principal Lance Fuhrer and Principal Robert Mcbride. This year the Gold Rush has become a charitable foundation, they held a memorial benefit for Kevin Meyer raising 700 dollars, and this year’s Gold Rush theme during homecoming of the âBlue Outâ shirt is dedicated to Coach Schlegal. Gold Rush not only helps Neuqua athletes, but the community as well in a manor that includes all students. If Gold Rush sounds interesting be bold, wear gold, and show up to the games.
